WHY PRIVATE LOCATING?

811 must mark public utilities before you dig.  811 is used to notify utility companies of planned excavation activities. The utility companies then come out and mark the underground utilities that they own, such as electric, gas, sewer, and water lines.

However, there are also private utilities that are not marked by the 811 system. Private utilities can include things like communication lines, irrigation systems, and private electrical lines that are not owned by the public utility companies. These private utilities are typically the responsibility of the property owner.

To ensure that all utilities are properly marked, including private utilities, it is recommended to hire a private utility locating contractor. These contractors specialize in locating and marking underground utilities, including the private ones, using specialized equipment and techniques.

Project GPR uses multiple technologies to ensure that the entire area is clear before you start any digging or excavation work, minimizing the risk of damage or accidents.

MAPPING & MODELING SERVICES PROVIDE YOU WITH A COMPLETE PICTURE OF YOUR SUBSURFACE UTILITIES

PROJECT GPR provides you with a .pdf, .kmz, and/or .dwg of

your site when you request mapping & modeling services on your project.  Utilities data is recorded to sub-inch accuracy which is above and beyond the industry standard, providing you with additional safety now and into the future.

ALL MAPS & MODELS ARE PROVIDED WITH ACCURACY ABOVE THE INDUSTRY STANDARD

PROJECT GPR uses survey grade geolocation equipment for all mapping and modeling services.  Our mapping experts compile all data collected during scanning to recreate a high-precision model of your subsurface utilities that is accurate down to the centimeter.  With this level of accuracy, you can rest assured that your project will remain safe now and into the future.

What Utility Locating Looks Like

WHAT IS GROUND PENETRATING RADAR (GPR)?

GPR is a cutting-edge technology that allows for non-invasive subsurface investigation and imaging. By emitting high-frequency radio waves into the ground and analyzing the reflections, GPR provides detailed information about subsurface features such as utilities, pipes, rebar, voids, and geological structures. Our skilled team of technicians utilizes state-of-the-art GPR equipment to deliver accurate and comprehensive data, enabling you to make informed decisions for construction, infrastructure, environmental assessments, and archaeological investigations. With our reliable GPR services, you can reduce risks, save time and costs, and gain a deeper understanding of the subsurface conditions.

SAFETY & SAVINGS

Utility locating and concrete scanning services improve safety, save money, and minimize project delays allowing for efficient project planning and execution.

SAFETY

Locating utilities improves safety by preventing accidental damage to underground infrastructure, reducing the risk of hazardous incidents, such as gas leaks or electrical outages, and ensuring the well-being of workers and the general public.

CREW DOWN TIME

When utilites get damaged, work cannot resume until the replacement has been completed.  This can be a couple hours or a couple days impacting total project duration.

COST IMPACTS

Locating utilties and concrete scanning saves money by preventing costly damages to underground infrastructure during construction or excavation projects, avoiding service disruptions, minimizing repair expenses, and reducing project delays.

"Project GPR showed up on time and was able to help us find several unknown utilities beneath a floor slab. Good service at a good value."
